New calling!

I’m so excited, yayayayayay!!!!!  First, let me back up a bit.  We had lived here in Clarksville only three months when I got my first calling in the Ward, 2nd Counselor in the Primary (3-11 year old kids).  That was a great calling, I got to work with some amazing ladies and great kids!  I was in that position for 3 years and was released while on vacation (bummer!)  But I was ready to move on and help the ward out in some other way.  Then, about 2 months after that, I was called into the nursery!  That would be the 18 month-3 year old class.  Oh boy….That is a calling that many people tend to avoid like the plague.  But being the nice person that I am (hehe), I accepted it.  I was sad being away from the adult classes, again.  It was only supposed to be once a month, but it didn’t quite work out that way and I ended up being in there every single Sunday.  I complained, a lot.  And for that I feel awful about.  I love those kids a lot, they are so fun to work with.  I just felt like I was missing out on so much going on on the “outside”.  We are only about 2 and a half months away from moving, and I felt like I was just going to be in there until we left.  I made my peace with that, haha!  Then out of the blue Tyler gets a call from someone in the Bishopric.  They wanted to call me to be the 1st Counselor in the Young Women’s presidency (12-18 year old girls)!  Heck yeah!  I’ve had a couple other callings in there and have always just had a blast and loved working with those girls.  I was pretty surprised though that they asked me, since we are leaving so soon.  That happened a few weeks ago, and I’ve taught the Sunday lesson once, and it went well.  At least that’s what the girls told me :)  I’m still popping by the nursery just to check on those sweet kids.  And a few of them cry because I’m not in there.  AWWWWW!!!!  I know they’ll love their new leaders too, it’s kind of hard to move on now.  I never thought I’d say that!   I’m very grateful for the chance I had to be in there, and for my new opportunity to teach the Young Women.  Thank you Heidi for having the faith in me to be able to help lead these girls down the right path!  Wish me luck when it’s my turn to plan the Wednesday night activity!!!
