Our trip to Disney World!

We took  a huge trip to Disney world a couple of weeks ago!  Thanks to Disney for giving military such  crazy awesome discounts or else it would have never been possible :)  We had to drive all the way through Tennessee, Georgia, and half way through Florida to get there, but we made it in one day!  Of course,  we had to stop at our favorite rest stop, the Nick a Jack dam at the Tennessee River!  Go ahead and laugh, but we stop there every single time we travel in that direction, it’s just so dang pretty!

Great view ;)

We started out going to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to catch Star Wars weekend!  There were Star Wars characters all over the place,  and we were able to catch a picture with one, completely unknown to me, Bounty hunter chick.  We saw a 3-D Muppets movie, a Little Mermaid live show, and a really cool Indiana Jones Stunt spectacular!  We also learned our lesson and decided the rest of our trip, we would pack peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch instead of buying it there, yikes!!  Tyler took Logan, Jared, and Emma on the Hollywood Tower of Terror ride.  The first “big” one of our trip.  And oh yeah, the last one too!  I stayed behind with Evan with the idea that after they went, I would have a turn and take the kids again while Tyler sat with Evan.  I had to BEG Logan to go with me, that ride freaked them all out!  You see, you sit down, and the ride takes you to the top of the tower.  Then, it drops you, brings you back up again, then drops you again!  So much fun!  Jared was shocked that they actually dropped you, he couldn’t believe it!

The next day we decided to stay back at the resort and have fun playing mini golf and swimming!  Oh, and buying a timeshare too!  Yes, cliche, I know…..The hotel had it’s own lake, two mini golf courses, a huge pool with slides and a lazy river too!  It was great to relax that day and get out of the Florida heat for a little while.  That evening we checked out Downtown Disney.  It’s basically a bunch of stores and resturants.  We ate at the T-Rex resturant, holy cow, that was an awesome place!  They had meteor showers every 20 minutes, the lights would go dark, the ice age room would turn colors, and all the animatronic dinos would go crazy!

Memories…..

We got new school pictures the other day, and while putting them into their frames, I came across all of the old ones too :)  I thought it would be fun to post them up here to take a look at how much they’ve changed!  Enjoy!

Logan’s graduation from Elementary school

After 6 loooong years of elementary school, Logan finally graduated and is moving on to Middle school next year.  Say it with me now, YIKES!!!  This all happened May 21st, I’m a bit slow these days blogging :)  But anyway, Evan, Tyler and I were able to attend his ceremony, and I was able to snap a few pictures.  Not the greatest, we had to sit far away dang it!  But in any case, I hope you can make him out!  When he left the house that morning, he couldn’t have looked more handsome.  White shirt and church pants, awwwww!   By the time the ceremony rolled around at 2pm, sigh….I guess I can’t ask for too much from an 11 year old boy.

Every quater the school gives out a Pride award called the Citizenship award.  That goes to someone who embodies what it means to be a good student, you know, all that fun stuff!  The final award was voted on by the students in the class (as opposed to being chosen by the teacher like usual) and Logan won the votes for his class!  That meant he was in the running for the award for the whole 5th grade!  Unfortunately, he didn’t win that one, but he was still pumped to be called up on stage and given a “gold” medal for the class win.  Oh, and he was just 1 day shy of having perfect attendance the whole year.  That one was my fault, I had to take him out early to go on a trip!

We were able to visit the middle school on Monday to take a tour and see what it’s all about.  I think we all feel tons more comfortable now that we were able to do that.  He asks me how I like middle school.  I don’t tell him this of course, but I hated it!!  Worst 3 years ever!  But, Logan is a much better kid than I was, and I know he’ll kick some behind!  Watch out, here he comes!!!!logans-graduation-28logans-graduation-30
